THE BERRY INTERESTING PROPERTY REPORT

With the end of year festivities behind us, focus (and much discussion) has centred on where the market is at for 2019.

A total of 6 sales have been posted for January through to the first week of February providing a good mix of residential and acreage. As was the case at the end of last year, small and large acreage properties are seeing the most activity as buyers are seeking value for money.

The town of Berry (and surrounds) is still holding its appeal with Sydney-siders with new buyers looking to relocate to Berry every week.

If your thoughts are to sell your property this year, now may be the time to address some of those little jobs around your home. We can guide you through the process with advice where it matters.

OUR ARTISTIC SIDE
BERNIE McGRATH

This month we celebrate and thank Bernie McGrath for the commission work as the latest addition to our collection in the office.

Bernard McGrath is an Australian, self taught contemporary artist based in Berry. Working primarily in acrylic, his mixed media works combine loud, vivid colours and textures creating a highly unique energy on canvas. Bernard’s works are created by what he calls his “splash and slash method” where he splashes, throws and layers paint onto a canvas and then shakes it whilst the paint is wet forming different shapes and textures.

Bernard has had no formal training and attributes his growing artistic talents to a procedure he had in 2008 known as Deep Brain Stimulation for the treatment of his early onset Parkinson’s Disease. Deep brain stimulation (DBS) uses an implantable medical device similar to a cardiac pacemaker, which treats the main symptoms of advanced Parkinson’s disease by delivering electrical stimulation to a precisely targeted area deep within the brain. Bernard believes this procedure also stimulated the right side of his brain as prior to the operation he appreciated art but had never participated in any artistic endeavours. Bernard loves his new found creativity and finds it a great form of therapy for his Parkinson’s Disease.

If you would like to own one of Bernie’s magnificent works of art they will be on display at The Garden Berry from 15th Feb to 14th March 2019.

Opening night is Saturday 16th February from 5.30-6.30. All welcome for a complimentary glass of bubbles and some nibbles to celebrate.
