HOW THE WORLD HAS CHANGED…

A whole new swathe of phrases have entered our vocabulary in recent times such ‘social isolation’, ‘social distancing’ and ‘#staysafe’.

As an agent, it’s been difficult not to greet clients with the standard respectful handshake. The appreciative hug from an excited and happy buyer has morphed into a spontaneous single happy dance, which is just as fun if not more.

On the whole, I’ve noticed the general population has become more respectful, patient and mindful of their presence and impact in social/business transactions. When in the market for real estate, people have been more open with their intentions and requirements which makes it easier for us to fulfil their housing needs.

What does the current situation mean for the market locally…?

Quite a lot as it turns out. If there was ever a time that city dwellers wanted a little space between neighbours, yet a strong sense of community, recent events have proved to be the catalyst for that change. Berry is the perfect change of scenery. Our rolling hills, rural views or a moo of a cow is the answer to the question “Where would we rather be?”

As a result, enquiry levels on properties in the area are currently higher than usual for this time of year. Recent sales are also evidence of the present mindset of space. Blocks of land, small acreage and above average size residential homes appear to be the target for buyers seeking a change in the way they want to live. Luckily, Berry and surrounds has it all!
